We are proud to be able to offer sliding scale services. Our rate schedule slides between $100-$180, and for 8 months of the year, we have an intern therapist who works under supervision. They are able to offer services under a Pay What You Can (PWYC) model between $20-$100
We accept payment through credit cards and e-transfer.
At YYZ Talks we know that life can be hectic and busy, and we’re going to work with you. Our therapists offer flexible time slots between 8 am to 8pm Monday to Thursday, and 8-6 on Fridays. Weekend appointments are also available. We will do our best to accommodate you because we’re glad you’re reaching out
What sets us apart is our intake value system. We do not believe that one point of contact or brief interview can always successfully match you with the right therapist. It’s often hard enough to start therapy, we want to make sure you’re set up for success. We set up 2to 3 free 15-minute consults with our therapists so that you can really get a feel to see who you’d rather work with. Of course if one of our lovely therapists jump out to you, then you are free to dive right in with them.
Our therapists are all trained in different blends of modalities including but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), SFT (Solution Focused Brief Therapy), Dialectical Behaviour, Therapy (DBT) Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Psychoanalysis, Mindfulness, and Behavioural Activation. Additionally, we are all trained to apply a humanistic lens to our work to help our clients move towards self-actualization. During your intake, your therapist will speak to their modalities and approach and why they suggest that blend.
The fit between you and your therapist is vital, and it works both ways. If you feel that your therapist isn’t a good fit, talk to our Clinical Director, Zell Dharsee and we will do our best to help you find a better fit. You won’t hurt our feelings.

Your appointment is a slot we reserve specially for you. If you can’t make it, please provide at least 24h notice to your psychotherapist, otherwise the full session fee is charged. If you have extenuating circumstances, talk to your therapist and they’ll work with you.
We get this question a lot, but unfortunately there is no way to answer that. Some clients come in for one session to reframe an issue and we never hear from them again. Others want to go down the rabbit hole and we meet weekly for years. It’s truly up to you. You and your therapist will discuss goals and progress regularly to assess next steps.

Sorry but we can’t prescribe as we’re not medical doctors. You’d have to talk to your family doctor or try a walk-in for that.
Insurance plans vary, and so it’s best to check to see which professional designations your insurance plan covers. Our team consists of Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Social Workers. If your plan covers those, then we’re covered.
YES Confidentiality is absolutely respected. The only exceptions are if you’re about to hurt yourself, hurt someone else, or if there’s a child in need of protection.
We decided to stay virtual because it allowed us to essentially become better therapists. By removing travel times, we offer more flexible time slots. Consequently we also feel we can live much more balanced lives, and dedicate more time to reading and learning. Our clinical director was initially reluctant, but after meeting several clients, some of whom he began with virtually, all clients reported that they felt equally understood and connected virtually.
If you do not have access to privacy at home, and would need to meet your Psychotherapist in person, we unfortunately would not be the practice for you.
